Recently, a case has arisen involving allegations of eye-care-related medical negligence. The case involves a man who, in spring of 2011, received care from an ophthalmologist. The care reportedly was related to an eye condition the man was suffering from.
The man eventually sustained a permanent loss of vision in one of his eyes. The eye the vision loss occurred in was the man’s right eye. The man claims that this loss of vision occurred because the ophthalmologist failed to act properly when caring for him. According to the man, during the above-mentioned care, the ophthalmologist committed a variety of negligent actions including failing to properly evaluate the man’s condition and failing to conduct adequate testing.
In connection to these allegations, a lawsuit has been brought against the ophthalmologist in a court in Illinois by the man. The man is asking for damages in this lawsuit.
As the allegations in this case underscore, medical negligence by eye doctors can be very harmful to patients. Harms suffered due to medical negligence can lead to a patient facing major costs.
