Mariajose Serrano
I was born and raised in the vibrant city of Guayaquil, Ecuador. In 2017, my family made the life-changing decision to move permanently to the United States. It was an eye-opening transition for me. I soon learned that the land of opportunity required hard work and sacrifice to achieve one’s goals.
Shortly after arriving, I enrolled in White Plains High School and successfully graduated in 2018. Because my mother instilled in me the far-reaching benefits of learning, education has always been important. As a result, I continued my studies at Westchester Community College. I earned my Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies in just a year and a half.
Driven by my passion for the legal field, I pursued further education at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY. In 2022, I proudly received my Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies becoming a first-generation college graduate. Throughout my time at Mercy College, I was recognized for my academic achievements and became a member of the Honors Society, President’s List, and Phi Theta Kappa. Maintaining a GPA of 3.8 was a testament to my dedication and hard work.
In March of 2023, I embarked on a new chapter in my career at Wocl Leydon.
It’s fulfilling to be able to make a difference and help those in need.
Overall, my experience has shaped me into a dedicated and compassionate individual who is committed to using legal knowledge for the betterment of others.
